GRADUATE FELLOWSHIPS

MIPSE sponsors competitive fellowships to students participating in the graduate certificate in PSE. The fellowships may be awarded to incoming or current students. The fellowships are $5,000/year and are intended to add to research assistants already provided to the students. The fellowships are renewable.

The first class of MIPSE Fellows for the 2009-2010 academic year (their department and advisors) includes:

Incoming Applicants

The graduate certificate in PSE is pending but is expected to be approved in time for students to enroll in Fall 2009. In anticipation of approval of the graduate certificate, we are offering a limited number of Fellowships now or incoming applicants to improve our chances of attracting the best candidates to UM. The requirements are:

  1. Student will enroll in a PhD program.
  2. Student likely to enroll in graduate certificate in PSE. Funding beyond the Fall 2009 is predicated on the student enrolling in the PSE graduate certificate.
  3. Faculty advisor is a member of MIPSE.
  4. Student is being offered admission to UM with at least the equivalent of a 50% research assistant or fellowship.
  5. Application deadline is 30 April 2009.

Current Students

  1. Fellowships for current students will be awarded once the graduate certificate is approved. The requirements are:
  2. Student are enrolled in a PhD program.
  3. Student will enroll in the graduate certificate in PSE.
  4. Faculty advisor is a member of MIPSE.
  5. Student is being supported with at least the equivalent of a 50% research assistant or fellowship.
  6. Application deadline 30 April 2009.
