Seeding Proposal Writing Teams in Plasma Science and Engineering for University of Michigan Faculty
Attracting center level funding in plasma science and engineering to the University of Michigan requires an interdisciplinary team of faculty and staff pursuing state-of-the-art research - and an excellent proposal. Preparation of proposals for center level funding (e.g., Science and Technology Center, Engineering Research Center, Materials Research Science and Engineering Center) requires resources to enable the preliminary research and team building necessary to be successful. MIPSE will conduct periodic competitions for seed funding to interdisciplinary teams of faculty to develop and submit center-level proposals. The seed funding, to be matched by departments and colleges, is intended to enable the team(s) 12-18 months to develop a highly competitive proposal.
Please contact M. Kushner to discuss your funding proposal.
Visitor Support
MIPSE will provide support for University of Michigan faculty and staff who are inviting and hosting long-term visitors to the U-M campus. The College of Engineering assesses a fee for registering and hosting long-term visitors: $750 processing fee plus a $250/month maintenance fee. MIPSE has limited funds to pay all or part of the processing and maintenance fees.
Please request support through this link (requires U-M login). For those visitors receiving support, MIPSE asks the host to provide a photograph of the visitor “in action” at U-M and a paragraph describing the visitor’s activities for the MIPSE website.
